As we approach the end of possibly the most dreadful year ever, let us keep strong, stay close to loved ones, pray ceaselessly, and light a candle for a new year that soon dawns, as hope and better days are surely ahead. As the adage goes, “what goes down, must (eventually) go up”.

I find it amusing, as a computer scientist and cybersecurity practitioner, that many, nerds and non-nerds, are enamored by all things computers – coding, cybersecurity, AI, etc.

When Gutenberg was introduced on WordPress in 2017, users disliked it. Its block-based approach to content creation and editing was not elegant, but was gearing towards more design than substance, copying from lesser competitors like Wix.

I served as an NGO diplomat around 2004, under a Catholic Cistercian abbot who was an inspiring German gentleman. We served causes in Cameroon and Burkina Faso, providing supplies and used vehicles. I also raised funds through a Chinese music collection through the help of a Chinese orchestra.
